First two stages are done. Yesterday’s stage was shortened because of the snow and was 120km long. But it wasn’t easy. The whole stage the race was on, only the end was controlled. Martin and Grabschi did a good job in the front. We had still 3 city laps in Sacramento. It was fantastic to see so many people next to the road. Sometimes not even in Europe on a bigger race isn’t so many people. The finish was not how we wanted but its fine.
Today was long day. The 200km long stage wasn’t so bad, worse was the all day headwind. I was only sitting in the slipstream and it wasn’t easy. Martin and Bert worked hard in the front again. In some moments we went around 24-26km/h. At the end of stage we had again city circuit. We had few crashes on these circuit and Gossi was also in one. So we had only Howard in the sprint alone. But he did good and finished 5th.
Tomorrow is first uphill finish. Lets see how it goes. Looking forward, I want to test the legs.
