Hi

We are done with stage one of this years Tour of California, but not in the way we all wished. Unfortunately the stage had to be canceled due to snow storm. From the early morning it was clear that the day wont be going according to plan. Plan B was to make the stage shorter. the final call came only minutes before the start. We were all standing on the start line freezing, when the next wave of the storm hit again. The stage was finally canceled and i must say we were all pretty relieved. At the moment its still snowing. However tomorrows stage two should run according to plan. We still start near Lake Tahoe what is 1800m high, but as we proceed to finishing city of Sacramento it should get warmer. We have our fingers crossed that the weather get better and Tour of California can start eventually.

Back to the actuall race. This race is super important for our team, I can say that after Tour its the second biggest race for us. We have more than a week of good training behind us here in California with our team. We did the recon of the hardest stage to Mt Baldy. TJ is super motivated and on form, Gossy will be going for the sprint stages. For me and Peter it will be about supporting them as good as we can and if we get opportunity to make a good result for us we will try and use it.
